According to News, Sanford Health has assumed operations of the former CHI St. Alexius Minot Medical Plaza to facilitate a significant expansion of healthcare services in North Dakota. The facility will undergo a comprehensive refresh to create a patient-centered environment designed for both immediate community needs and long-term growth.
Facility specifications and clinical capacity
The new Sanford Landmark Clinic will occupy approximately 64,500 square feet of space. A significant portion of this footprint includes 16,700 square feet of shelled space, which the organization intends to utilize for future expansion as demand increases. Upon its opening in late 2026, the clinic is scheduled to feature 45 exam rooms and 22 offices.
The transition will involve moving all services and providers currently based at the Sanford Northwest Clinic to this new location. To ensure patient continuity, the organization stated that residents will maintain uninterrupted access to their existing care teams during the relocation process. The expanded clinical team will consist of current staff members alongside several new family medicine providers joining the network in 2026.
Comprehensive service offerings
The Sanford Landmark Clinic is designed to function as a multi-disciplinary hub, bringing various health services under one roof. At the time of opening, the facility will provide:
The organization plans to introduce additional specialty services over time, including advanced imaging, to address specific community requirements. "This new clinic allows us to expand access, enhance the patient experience and bring more coordinated care into one convenient location," — Fred Fridley, chief operating officer, Sanford Bismarck.
Regional healthcare impact
The investment comes at a time when Minot’s healthcare landscape is characterized by a limited number of established providers. By consolidating services into a modern setting, Sanford Health aims to improve convenience and accessibility for patients in central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana, and northern South Dakota. The project represents a strategic move to strengthen local relationships while providing high-quality care closer to the patient's home.
