According to D23, Disney+ has received two significant additions to its catalog: the animated film Hoppers and a trio of exclusive new episodes from The Simpsons. These releases underscore the platform’s strategy of leveraging major intellectual property across diverse genres.
Hoppers: Technology Meets Animal Kingdom
Hoppers, a collaboration between Disney and Pixar, centers on Mabel, an animal lover who utilizes advanced technology to 'hop' her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver. This allows her to communicate directly with the animal kingdom while uncovering mysteries beyond imagination. The film features King George, a charismatic beaver voiced by Bobby Moynihan, and faces a major threat from local mayor Jerry Generazzo, voiced by Jon Hamm.
The production was directed by Daniel Chong and written by Jesse Andrews, featuring vocal contributions from Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, and Meryl Streep. To celebrate the film's arrival, Disney+ users can access three new themed avatars: Mabel, King George, and Tom Lizzard.

The platform is also set to stream three all-new episodes of The Simpsons globally this summer. These additions follow the series’ landmark achievement of reaching its 800th episode milestone. The upcoming releases span several months, each offering a distinct narrative style:
- June 17: “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition,” which explores Marge's frustration with her husband when he leaves the children unsupervised. This special features musical guests Laufey and Tegan and Sara.
- July 3: “Simpsley,” a noir-style episode where con-artist Marge Bouvier travels to Italy, tempted by wealth but encountering Homer Simpsley.
- August 26: “Yellow Mirror,” which presents two dark tales involving a defective lamp revealing truth and an AI-powered tablet that interacts with Maggie.
These exclusive episodes demonstrate the series’ continued ability to adapt its tone—from domestic comedy to international noir and sci-fi drama—while maintaining high production value.
