Frontier Developments has officially announced the 'Rebirth Expansion,' a substantial narrative DLC designed to significantly expand the scope of Jurassic World Evolution 3. According to ITC.ua, this expansion is directly inspired by events depicted in the forthcoming film, Jurassic World Rebirth. The content will introduce players to the island of Saint-Juber, where they must manage three secret research facilities while interacting with extremely dangerous prehistoric creatures.
Introducing New Dinosaurs and Campaign Locations
The heart of the expansion lies in its roster of new fauna. Among the most notable additions is the Distortus rex, a genetically modified predator noted for its unique killing animations and exceptionally aggressive behavior, which developers claim will constantly test park security systems.
In addition to the apex hunter, players can expect several other significant species:
- Mutadon: A hybrid creature combining traits of the Velociraptor and Pterosaur, capable of aerial hunting.
- Titanosaurus: This large dinosaur will appear alongside its young, a dynamic element not previously seen in the series.
- Aquilops: A smaller herbivore featuring both adult and juvenile variations for ecological diversity.
The new campaign narrative unfolds across three distinct locations on Saint-Juber: the Main Facility, Ancient Valley, and Riverside Lab. Players will engage with a system of Assignments—tasks that can be completed as part of the main storyline or through optional missions designed to unlock new genes, behavioral traits, and research findings.
Advanced Park Management and Ecosystem Features
Beyond simply adding creatures, Rebirth Expansion introduces several deep mechanical overhauls aimed at enhancing park infrastructure management. One major addition is the implementation of geothermal energy systems. For the first time in the series, players can construct an underground network of pipes to transfer geothermal power between various park objects, making the stability of this system crucial for all facility operations.
The expansion also addresses habitat design and creature containment with several key features:
- Open Air Aviary: A new system allowing designers to create large, open-air enclosures for flying reptiles without relying on traditional netted structures.
- Experimental Traits: Scientists on Saint-Juber can now breed dinosaurs with novel experimental characteristics that profoundly influence social interactions and interspecies behavior.
- Terrain Editing Expansion: Players will find expanded capabilities when modifying the landscape of their parks.
Furthermore, the DLC includes cosmetic updates, adding new models and skins for existing popular species such as the T. rex, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurus, Velociraptor, and others. These new skins are accompanied by specialized service vehicles, including off-roaders, quad bikes, and helicopters.
Rebirth Expansion represents the first major content update following the game's release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This massive injection of narrative depth, mechanical complexity, and biological diversity solidifies its position as a significant evolution for the franchise.
