Sony Interactive Entertainment released detailed information regarding its upcoming hardware schedule for 2026, outlining release dates, pricing, and pre-order availability for several new accessories. According to Polygon, these launches are designed to deepen the functionality of the PlayStation 5 experience while expanding into specialized gaming peripherals.

PlayStation FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick

The FlexStrike is Sony's proprietary wireless fight stick, which will debut on August 6th. This launch coincides with the arrival of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls from Arc System Works and Sony XDev on both PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The device is priced at $199.99, with pre-orders opening on June 12th.

The FlexStrike features a robust combination of wired and wireless connectivity, utilizing PS Link and a USB dongle for the latter. Its design emphasizes ergonomics, incorporating a raised button platform and a built-in DualSense touchpad. Furthermore, users can swap restrictor gates—available in square, octagon, or circle formats—without requiring tools. The stick also includes a rechargeable battery and a sling carry case.

Advanced Gaming Monitor with Charging Functionality

Another significant addition is the new 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor, which will be available in the U.S. and Japan on August 27th. This display targets PS5 owners specifically and features a QHD IPS panel (2560×1440). It supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and can handle refresh rates up to 120 Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro, while compatible PCs or Macs can utilize speeds up to 240 Hz.

The monitor’s most unique feature is the integrated DualSense charging hook. This retractable platform allows a PS5 controller to be held securely while simultaneously topping up its battery charge. The gaming monitor has a retail price of $349.99 (or 49,980 yen). Pre-orders for this display begin on June 5th through direct.playstation.com and Best Buy in the United States.

Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers

The lineup also includes the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, which are slated for release sometime within 2026, though specific pricing and dates have not yet been announced. PlayStation describes these portable speakers as featuring "planar magnetic drivers that help reproduce sound with near perfect accuracy along the entire audible spectrum" and incorporating "AI-enhanced noise rejection." The speakers boast a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge, making them suitable for various environments.

These hardware announcements underscore Sony's strategy to enrich the current PlayStation generation through high-quality accessories. From specialized input devices like the FlexStrike to integrated peripherals such as the DualSense charging monitor, these products aim to provide tailored experiences that extend beyond core gameplay sessions, solidifying the console’s position in the competitive gaming market.
